CHS Area Branch Presents ASALH 2024 Black History Theme: African Americans and the Arts

The Charleston Area Branch of ASALH welcomes you! Charleston ASALH offers a range of cultural activities celebrating the accomplishments of African Americans. We are pleased to announce this year’s Black History Month Theme: “African Americans and the Arts”. Join us as we fulfill our mission to promote, research, preserve, interpret, and disseminate information about African American life, and history. African American contributions to the Arts cannot be denied and is evident in every artistic sense.

In collaboration with esteemed partners such as the Gullah Geechee Group, Inc., The Colour of Music Festival Inc., Charleston County Public Library, The Charleston Gaillard Center, Avery Research Center at the College of Charleston, and various individual Lowcountry artisans. The ASALH Virtual Black History Month Festival will be accessible throughout February on YouTube: @ASALHTV.
