We are thrilled to invite you to a special event presented by Pure Theatre, one of our valued ASALH Institutional Members. Come experience “Septima”, a powerful play that brings to life the story of Charleston’s own civil rights icon, Septima P. Clark.

About the Play:
“Septima” highlights the incredible journey of Septima P. Clark, a powerful and genuine force in the Civil Rights Movement whose work in education and grassroots activism changed the course of history all over the South. This play will inspire and educate audiences of all ages as we reflect on her legacy of “Lifting as We Climb.”

We encourage all Charleston ASALH members and the Charleston community to attend this moving tribute to one of our city’s most influential leaders.
