Branch Meeting and Roundtable: “Equity, Inclusion and the Black Family” on January 9, 2021

Description

The first meeting of the year will include the presentation of the Charleston Area Branch 2020 Annual Report. We will begin our year-long programming on the 2021 Black history theme: “The Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity” with a roundtable discussion focusing on the City of Charleston’s special commission on Equity, Inclusion and Racial Diversity. Following a review of the commission’s history, purpose, mission and directives a panel including commissioners and subcommittee members will share their perspectives on the intersection of the commission’s work with ASALH’s 2021 theme “The Black Family.”

We encourage all planning to attend the roundtable to visit the commission’s website at www.charleston-sc.gov for information on members, subcommittees, and related documents especially the framework document.
