Freedom’s Eve: The Tradition and the History a Panel Discussion on December 22nd at 6pm

Event sponsored by the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor Commission

We are excited to welcome Ann Caldwell to the panel of our Freedom’s Eve: The Tradition and the History a Panel Discussion to discuss the traditions of Watch Night and the significance music plays in preserving Gullah Geechee traditions. Ann is a singer, songwriter, and storyteller native to Denmark, SC. At our 2019 Watch Night + Emancipation Celebration, we watched Ann Caldwell and the Magnolia Singers (Praise House) perform with the spirit of her ancestors who used music as a way to commune with each other and God.
